Your relatives. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, you can’t change the fact that you are genetically connected. Cousin Ed may be the epitome of a person that you despise, but since he is the progeny of Uncle Ted and Aunt Mary, he will always be a branch in your family tree. On the other hand, Grandma Goodwin is the sweetest, most loveable human being you have ever had the honor of knowing and calling Grandma.
Sometimes we have the occasion of choosing our relatives. Being a military family, we sometimes develop such strong and deep relationships with friends they become our adopted family. After all, these people are kindred spirits and understand our trials and tribulations. We support each other when we don’t have blood relatives nearby that can fulfill the role. It is a beautiful thing to see and experience.
In such a way, reclaimed Barnwood and natural logs can be combined into a breathtakingly beautiful Homestead Ridge Arched Panel Prairie Bed. All wood comes from the same source, so therefore can be considered distant relatives. However, the story changes from there. Barnwood has been milled and rough-sawn to be used in structures of stately proportions, and is manufactured to withstand the rigors of exposure for hundreds of years. Logs used in furniture have been felled from the actual tree, stripped of bark, and used in their natural state. It may seem like an unlikely combination, but the end result of the barnwood furniture is absolutely beautiful.
