Tops for More Than a Toilet
It pays to think out of the box when you are considering solutions for your rustic home décor. For instance, a friend of mine was in search of a buffet for her dining room, but needed it to be much narrower than the standard measurement for a buffet. When she was perusing the array of furniture at a big box store, she found a great deal on an entertainment center that both matched her existing wood grain and fit into the space she had reserved for it. With some strategic placement of knickknacks to hide the openings for wiring, the substitute for a buffet looks right at home in the dining room instead of living room.
I have been searching high and low for a storage solution in my office without much luck. While admiring the rustic beauty of the Barnwood furniture available from JHE’s Log Furniture Place, I happened upon the Cottage Barnwood Toilet Topper Cabinet and realized I had found exactly what I was looking for. It fulfills everything on my wish list: shelves to stash my small office supplies, it can be hung on the wall next to my desk for easy accessibility, two doors hide the items on the shelves, and it displays my love for barns all across America.
If you are looking for a furniture or decoration solution in your home, think outside the box and shop for items not typically found in the room you are concentrating on. Might you not only find the perfect unexpected piece, but also create a conversation piece that inspires others to shop creatively. There are more uses for rustic furniture that the purpose it is advertised for.
